Dachshund

Description

The head, body, and ears of this dachshund are crocheted separately in spirals and sewn together; the tail is crocheted onto the body. Each dog requires less than 3/4 oz worsted weight yarn (about 1/2 oz black, small amount tan), an F/5 hook (3.75mm), a small amount of fiberfill, 9mm safety eyes if desired, and yarn or embroidery floss for nose and eyes, if not using safety eyes.

Stitches and techniques assumed: magic ring, slip knot, chain, slip stitch, single crochet and decrease, sewing up openings, sewing pieces together, single crochet color change.

Each leg is a 4-dc bobble stitch, which is explained in the pattern. It is helpful to know double crochet.
